Mapping a rainforest killing

Greenpeace International briefed us to create Licence to Kill, a visually compelling report to illustrate the impact industrial forest 'management' was having on the rainforests of Riau on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Our page layouts were designed to make the most of the amazing photography supplied to us alongside the highly detailed geo-referenced maps we designed for this report - maps which illustrated precisely how and where logging concessions overlap with supposedly protected areas of forest, peatland and wildlife habitat.

In recent years this kind of mapping has become a specialism of ours. Created using GIS data supplied by Greenpeace, imported into Illustrator using Avenza's Mapublisher then designed to suit the look and feel of the report.
